Minh Vo's Online Résumé - Information Systems Developer
Oracle DBA Projects (DBA III)
As part of the Oracle 11g Certification Program and the DBA III coursework (2012), I led a team of two Systems Administrators through Oracle installs, upgrades, migrations, standby scenarios / Data Guard, RMAN implementations, ASM migrations, and warehousing examples using Streams. It was rigorous and extremely challenging. Definitely the best course I have ever taken. Myself, I committed 40-80+ hours per week. This includes conjuring up a solution, applying and testing the proposed solution, documenting the process, and presenting to Instructor Mike Cummings who would try to break our VMs. :)
-
Oracle 11.2.0.3 Upgrade (.docx)
This is your typical Oracle upgrade involving a full version install of Oracle software.
-
Physical Standby Data Guard (.docx)
Created a Physical Standby Database and configured redo shipment manually without Data Guard Broker (dgmgrl).
-
3-Node Data Guard / Broker / RMAN Implementation (.docx)
Enhanced the Standby configuration above to support 3-nodes, fast-start-failover, Broker, and RMAN. Basically, a fully recoverable architecture.
-
Migration to Automatic Storage Management (ASM) / Grid Infrastructure (.docx)
Converted our database from local storage to ASM 4-disk array.
-
Downstream Capture / Warehousing (.docx)
A simple use of Oracle Streams. Goal was to replicate targetted data from specific tables of different databases to a "warehouse" database for trending.
